TRAVEL HEALTH INSURANCE
When traveling abroad, you might fall ill, get injured, or need urgent medical assistance. International Travel Health Insurance is a policy with fixed coverage limits that covers your medical expenses in the country you visit. It protects you from many financial difficulties and also provides the necessary support for you to return to your home country safely and comfortably. While the coverage can vary depending on the policy and there are many types of travel health insurance, the following are standard coverage items. This insurance, also known as visa insurance, is often mandatory for international travel.
- Transfer from one medical center to another if the current center lacks the necessary equipment or medical staff for treatment.
- Air ambulance services are not provided outside Europe.
- Transfers require a medical report prepared by the treating doctor.
With an additional premium, our insured persons can get coverage for Covid-19. Also, some insurance companies offer separate Covid-19 insurance policies.
You can purchase coverage for the duration of your trip, or you can buy an annual policy. For annual policies, the coverage period abroad is limited to 90 days. The policy remains valid until the total days spent abroad reaches 90.
International travel health insurance can be purchased by residents of Turkey. The insured can select specific regions for their coverage validity. The first region usually includes Europe and Schengen countries, while the second region includes Europe, Schengen, and the rest of the world. The insured can create a policy based on the countries they plan to visit. The validity period is determined by passport entry and exit dates. The policy becomes valid the moment you exit Turkey. If you travel to a country not included in your package, the insurance will not be valid there.
